Abstract

Stress is one of the major challenges affecting university students' mental health, significantly influencing their academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being. This article explores the urgency of stress management as a preventive and promotive approach to maintaining students’ psychological health. Various stressors are identified, including academic pressure, financial difficulties, social demands, and rapid lifestyle changes during the transition to university life. When not managed effectively, stress can lead to severe psychological consequences such as anxiety disorders, depression, sleep disturbances, and substance abuse. This paper outlines a range of proven stress management strategies, including relaxation techniques, regular physical activity, effective time management, strong social support, healthy eating patterns, adequate sleep, cognitive-behavioral techniques, emotional regulation skills, and problem-solving abilities.
