The Importance of Soft Skills for Teenagers in the Modern Era: Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

In the modern era marked by rapid technological advancement and dynamic labor markets, soft skills have become essential competencies for adolescents. Skills such as communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving play a crucial role in academic and career success, yet they often receive less attention than academic achievement. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance adolescents’ awareness and development of soft skills through participatory and interactive approaches in schools and youth communities in South Tangerang. The results show improvements in self-confidence, communication abilities, and teamwork, highlighting soft skill development as a long-term investment in creating adaptable and competitive young generations.
