Abstract

Public speaking is an essential communication skill that supports adolescents’ personal and social development. Beyond conveying information, it enhances self-confidence and effective communication. This study analyzes the role of public speaking in developing self-confidence and communication skills among adolescents aged 13–18 through literature review and qualitative analysis of training programs. Findings show that active participation in public speaking strengthens self-confidence, message delivery, and critical and empathetic thinking, highlighting the importance of integrating public speaking training in both formal and non-formal education for character development.
