Abstract

Generation Z has grown up alongside digital technology, particularly social media, which plays a central role in their daily lives. Intensive social media use has led to oversharing—excessively sharing personal information—which can trigger overthinking, causing stress, anxiety, and mental strain. Research shows a positive correlation between social media intensity and oversharing, which in turn contributes to increased overthinking, negatively affecting Gen Z’s psychological well-being, including heightened anxiety, reduced concentration, and sleep disturbances.
