Abstract

The phenomena of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), the spread of false information (hoaxes), and digital drama culture are the main challenges faced by Generation Z in using social media. Lack of digital literacy makes students vulnerable to negative impacts, such as information addiction, low critical thinking skills, and susceptibility to unverified opinions. This study aims to improve digital literacy among vocational school students through educational activities focusing on the issues of FOMO, hoaxes, and digital drama. The Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented at SMK 3 Perguruan Cikini using a participatory approach, including interactive lectures, case study discussions, and critical reflection. A total of 50 students from grade XI participated in this activity. The results showed an increase in students' awareness in recognizing the signs of hoaxes, managing FOMO behavior, and being more selective towards digital drama content. This outreach program proved that digital literacy can shape critical thinking, a sense of responsibility, and a wise attitude in the use of social media.
