Abstract

The development of technology and social media brings significant benefits, but also poses serious threats to user privacy, such as data exploitation and unauthorized surveillance. This study aims to examine the challenges of privacy protection on social media and formulate strategies to create more secure platforms. The research method used is a qualitative approach through literature analysis, in-depth interviews, and case studies on popular social media platforms. The results indicate that low user awareness, the complexity of privacy policies, and the involvement of third parties are the main challenges. Therefore, the implementation of encryption technology, increased policy transparency, user education, and strengthened regulations are needed to protect privacy on social media.
