Integration of Soft Skills in School Activities: Extracurricular Activities, Student Council, and Social Projects

Abstract

This research discusses the integration of soft skills in extracurricular activities, student council (OSIS), and social projects among students at Yayasan Oto Iskandar Dinata Panti Asuhan Wisma Karya Bakti. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the study involved 35 students and 18 committee members supporting the activities. The program included soft skill education, leadership training, organizational simulations, and community-based social projects. Findings reveal that although most students demonstrated high interest and active participation, the development of soft skills was uneven. Factors such as limited confidence, lack of initiative, and insufficient mentoring affected the effectiveness of the program. The study highlights the need for a more personalized, continuous, and adaptive approach tailored to the characteristics of the participants to enhance soft skill development.
