The Role of Financial Education in Shaping the Savings Behavior of Students in Islamic Boarding Schools

Abstract

Financial education plays a vital role in shaping saving behavior among students at Pesantren Nurul Ihsan. This community service program emphasized basic money management concepts, simple financial planning, and the habit of setting aside part of their allowance for savings. Through socialization and educational sessions, students were guided to distinguish between needs and wants and to adopt a planned and modest lifestyle. The results indicated improved understanding of the importance of saving and increased awareness of disciplined and responsible financial management. Continuous financial education serves as a strategic approach to building students’ economic independence.
