Abstract

This study aims to enhance the self-confidence of santri at Nurul Ihsan Islamic Boarding School through a structured counseling program. Using a participatory action research method, the program includes training in communication skills, self-management, and motivation for public speaking. The results indicate that social environment, experience, skills, and self-acceptance significantly influence the self-confidence of the santri. The counseling program proved effective in increasing students’ courage to speak in public and their active participation in group activities. This needs-based counseling approach is expected to serve as a model that can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools for sustainable santri development.
